During the 2014 campaign season, Michigan’s Children is working through the Sandbox Party to listen to what candidates are saying and to engage and inform more voters in the election process.

However, we don’t often hear candidates talk about many issues that matter to children, youth and families.

To remedy this, we’ve partnered with Michigan Radio’s powerful State of Opportunity project to conduct a series of candidate forums with youths from local communities playing a central role.  The forums are taking place in different areas of the state – Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Mt. Clemens -- but all are led by young people asking important questions of candidates for Michigan House and Senate races.
