College Financial Aid Resources for Former Foster Youth
This resource provides information about potential financial aid opportunities for post secondary education.
To be eligible, applicants must have a high school GPA of 3.7 or higher at the end of their junior year OR a composite ACT score of 26 (or SAT of 1170) or higher. For consideration, applicants must have applied for admission to Western Michigan University for fall 2015 by December 22, 2014. We are requesting nominations from high school officials based upon the above criteria and the verification of financial need (see criteria below). Nominations are due in the admissions office by December 15, 2014.
Finalists will be notified and asked to provide a student bio along, a two-minute video, and verification of financial need.
Ten (10) students will be offered a $50,000 Foundation Scholarship ($12,500 per year for four years). Semi-finalists will receive a minimum of $3,000 in WMU scholarships (inclusive of previously offered scholarships). Scholarship offers will be made on March 15th, 2015.
