Michigan WORKS!

Michigan Works! is Michigan's statewide workforce development system that connects job seekers with employers, offering free services like job search assistance, career counseling, resume help, interview prep, and training funds, while also providing employers with recruitment and talent development resources to build the state's economy. They help people find jobs, improve skills for new careers, get support for barriers (like childcare/transport), and offer specialized programs for youth, veterans, and others.

For Job Seekers

  • Job Search & Placement: Job boards, referrals, help finding roles (from first jobs to career changes).
  • Skill Building: Resume writing, interview practice, career exploration, GED prep, vocational training.
  • Support Services: Help with transportation, childcare, and other barriers to employment.
  • Training & Funding: Access to funding for further education and job training.
  • Resources: Free access to computers, printers, and internet.

For Employers

  • Recruitment: Finding qualified candidates, talent tours, job fairs.
