Education Training Voucher (ETV) Program

The Michigan Education & Training Voucher (ETV) program provides federal funding as grants (up to $5,000/year) to current and former foster youth to help pay for college, career school, or job training, covering costs like tuition, books, housing, and even student loans, for youth who aged out of foster care after 14 and are eligible until age 26, offering vital support for their transition to independent living.

Who it's for (Eligibility):

  • Youth who have been in Michigan foster care after their 14th birthday or were adopted from foster care after their 16th birthday.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be under 21 to start but can receive support until age 26 (for up to 5 years).
