Nikki Jenks

To me goals are meant to be reached, almost like a promise to one’s self that they will make themselves a better person one step at a time.

Tell us a little about yourself:

Name: Nichole Jenks
School you attend: Western Michigan University
Status in school: sophomore
Major: Social Work
Where are you from: Mt. Pleasant

Name two of your personal and professional goals.

Personal: Meet the president of the United States and get a car.
Professional: Get an internship in my field of study. Work with youth and alumni of care and assist them in transitioning to independence.

What supports did/do you have that helped you to succeed?

Michigan Youth Oppurtunities Initiative, Mentors, Siblings, and my Campus coach.

What’s your favorite song to dance and sing to when you’re alone and why?

Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas, because the bass in the song is fantastic and it’s just a great song all together.

How do you stay motivated to accomplish your goals?

I stay motivated by always remembering why I set the goal. To me goals are meant to be reached, almost like a promise to one’s self that they will make themselves a better person one step at a time.
