The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 revamped the education system and replaced the No Child Left Behind Act. In addition, it’s the first federal education legislation to address the special needs of youth who have experienced foster care. This toolkit and accompanying webinar will highlight those provisions and will explain how Michigan has moved toward better serving our youth in foster care so that they are better prepared for post-secondary opportunities.
